308 Peugeot Compact Range / versions
New Peugeot 308 GTI with 250 and 270 hp versions

Peugeot has officially announced the arrival of the most powerful variants of the 308, its compact model, which in this second generation is enjoying notable sales success.
We are talking about the 308 GTI, which revives the magical figures that Peugeot had lost years ago in this segment, positioning itself as the true successor to the legendary 306 GTI.
It was more than evident that sooner or later the guys at Peugeot were going to decide to launch the GTI version of the 308. They had everything at home; they did not need to look for any strange component or ponder an idea that, as a concept, is already more than appealing.

Externally, the 308 GTI goes one step further in terms of styling compared to the 308 GT, with more restrained, more elegant sportiness. GTI versions want to show their potential, and to do so they feature a very aggressive front end based on that of the GT, to which small moldings have been added.
The alloy wheels have a new design and will be 18 inches as standard, and can increase to 19 inches on the most powerful versions or optionally on the base variant. The rear is similar to that of the GT, but on this occasion we do have visible exhaust outlets, one on each side, similar to those of the RCZ R.
Inside, the changes are not radical, but they are enough to distinguish the GTI from the “ordinary” versions. Of course, there is no shortage of leather and Alcantara seats with semi-bucket structure, as well as red detailing on stitching and trim. In addition, the instrumentation, steering wheel and gear lever knob are specific.

Mechanically, Peugeot wanted to offer a compact with power levels above average. It will be launched in two versions of 250 and 270 hp, both based on the 1.6 THP engine that has given Peugeot so much success. It is basically the same engine that powers the RCZ R. In both versions it delivers 330 Nm, and it is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The less powerful version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, while the 270 hp variant does this in exactly 6 seconds. Both versions, of course, feature a very well-tuned chassis, as well as specific elements such as an oversized brake system with 380 mm discs on the front axle and 268 mm on the rear axle, with 4-piston fixed calipers at the front. The chassis height has been lowered by 11 mm compared to the regular variants, ESP can be fully switched off, and a limited-slip differential is added to improve cornering behaviour.
