New photos of the Mercedes Class S

Mercedes-Benz Clase S (2)

Over the last few days, we have been able to take a closer look at the first official images of both the exterior and interior of the new flagship of Mercedes-Benz, the Class S 2014, a saloon which, like the rest of its generations, will feature technological advances far superior to the current competition. This time, new snapshots of the German sedan’s cabin have been revealed.

Judging by these photographs, the model detailed below corresponds to the extended wheelbase version, though not the Pullman. This latter designation will replace the Maybach 57 under the body of the Mercedes-Benz Class S 2014. In them we can see the multimedia system installed in the rear seats as well as the folding seats in that area.

The new dashboard also deserves mention. It houses two TFT screens of more than 10 inches from which we can control everything from the instrument cluster to the television in the most exclusive models. The steering wheel has also been updated, as well as the central trim.

Production of the model is expected to begin on 20 July, at which point the first orders can be placed. From that date, affluent customers will be able to choose from a range of engines, from the S350 Bluetec with 258 CV to the S500 with 435 CV, including greener variants such as the S400 Hybrid with 326 CV. The company’s first plug-in hybrid will follow later.
