New Ranger diesel, more efficient and powerful
The new Ford Ranger features improved diesel engines. Its capabilities as a load-carrying, towing and off-road vehicle make this pick-up versatile in every way

The new Ford Ranger diesel shows that diesel engines can still hold their own in the market. Especially for those looking for a car with good torque and outstanding capacity to carry cargo and tow.
That is why this American pick-up arrives at dealerships with a diesel engine that is both more efficient and more powerful. Offered in two mechanical versions, the fundamental difference lies in whether the engine block is supported by a variable-geometry turbocharger or a twin turbo.
The new diesel engines of the Ford Ranger

Regarding the first, the Ford Ranger with EcoBlue 2.0-litre engine with variable-geometry turbocharger shows improved efficiency and performance. With an output of 170 CV and 420 Nm of torque, consumption is rated at 8.3 litres per 100 km, and CO2 emissions at 216 g/km.
On the other hand, the twin-turbo EcoBlue 2.0 engine of the new Ford Ranger delivers 213 CV and an impressive 500 Nm of torque. These figures represent up to 13 CV and 30 Nm more than the equivalent version with the 3.2-litre TDCi diesel engine. Consumption and emissions figures stand at 9.2 litres of diesel used and 228 grams of CO2 emitted per 100 km travelled.
Furthermore, in both versions, the 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine uses selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to optimise emissions. This means an improvement of up to 9 per cent in fuel efficiency when combined with the 10-speed automatic gearbox. Since power is transmitted to all four wheels, this Ford Ranger is a four-wheel-drive pick-up.
A versatile pick-up
This new Ford Ranger also offers a configuration that allows it to tackle off-road situations. Consequently, it is capable of wading depths of up to 800 mm and, with a ground clearance of 230 mm, the new Ford Ranger has been designed to travel successfully over complex terrain. It features an approach angle of 29 degrees and a departure angle of 21.

Alongside its off-road qualities, it is worth noting that the Ford Ranger can tow up to 3,500 kg and has a payload capacity of up to 1,252 kg.
The Ford Ranger is available in three body styles: Single Cab, Super Cab and Double Cab, where the new premium colours (Moon Silver and Lightning Blue) offer greater visibility and enhance its appeal. It also features a new front bumper, where the new grille updates and sharpens its front look, as well as the central horizontal bar, which is now segmented lengthwise.

Its versatile design does not come at the expense of comfort and connectivity. That is why it features the FordPass Connect on-board modem technology, which allows up to 10 simultaneous connections via Wi-Fi, as well as the Ford SYNC 3 connectivity and infotainment system, capable of responding to voice commands or through the eight-inch touchscreen. Smartphone synchronisation is achieved through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These technologies and devices are also aimed at those who use this pick-up as a work tool.
In addition, the new Ford Ranger includes standard equipment that improves driving, comfort and the safety of its occupants and other road users, such as the Intelligent Speed Limiter, which keeps the vehicle within the maximum speeds permitted for the road, and the Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, which uses several cameras and front radars to detect people on the road and, if the driver does not respond to hazard warnings, automatically applies the brakes. Higher-spec versions include high-quality xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights.
