New Renault 2.3 dCi engine for the New Master

The French brand Renault unveiled yesterday the new 2.3 dCi engine that will be fitted to the New Master and which offers the best cost-to-performance ratio in its class, very much aimed at helping professionals save money. It will be produced at the Cléon plant in France, and has been developed by French engineers across various French regions.
This new engine will be available in three different power outputs: 100, 125 and 150 CV depending on individual needs. Clearly it will not be the only vehicle to use it, as others within the Renault-Nissan alliance will incorporate it in the future. It will replace the 2.5 dCi and the 3.0 dCi four-cylinder diesel, which is not the same as the 3.0 V6 found in the Renault Laguna, for example.
Fuel savings are notable. Renault announces that consumption will be reduced by 1 litre per 100 km, and by up to 2.7 litres per 100 km in rear-wheel-drive models. In addition, the average emissions reduction is around 10%, all accompanied by an increase of 30 Nm of torque, which makes it the best in its category.
Furthermore, it will require fewer service visits, every 40,000 km instead of every 30,000 km. Internal improvements to the engine are responsible for this notable saving. We look forward to seeing which models will include this new engine and what performance figures it delivers not only in commercial vehicles, but also in the Renault Laguna, for example.
