New Tesla Roadster: the sports car that reaches 100 km/h in under 2 seconds
Tesla has just announced its new 2018 Roadster. Its electric motor allows it to reach 100 km/h in under 2 seconds and offers a range of 1000 km.

Sports cars are gradually appearing in every brand, and today virtually all manufacturers have one of these vehicles among their products. Tesla did not want to be left behind, and in 2006 it presented its first product and, therefore, its first sports car. The Tesla Roadster shared its platform with the Lotus Elise and had very impressive features, but in 2011 it was discontinued.
Today, the American brand has presented its new Roadster, which seeks to keep intact the philosophy of its predecessor while taking it a level higher. Tesla’s new sports car uses a platform developed in-house, so this vehicle is much more unique than the previous one and offers simply staggering performance.
Tesla is betting on a more sporty, luxurious and elegant design. The new Roadster has a great aerodynamic effort behind it, which is not surprising given the performance the electric brand claims. We are looking at a redesign in every respect, adopting an aggressive yet subtle styling.

Inside, and as usual, we find a 100% electric motor. We do not know the power it develops, but Elon Musk -CEO of Tesla- has revealed very impressive figures. The American company claims its new sports car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2 seconds, specifically in 1.9, and reach a top speed of 400 km/h. The brutal acceleration it achieves makes the Tesla Roadster faster than the Bugatti Chiron or the Koenigsegg Agera RS.
This is not surprising, since electric motors are capable of delivering a large amount of torque at very low revs, making acceleration practically instantaneous. To be more precise, it is capable of generating 10,000 Nm of torque, which is an impressive figure. But Tesla has not only thought about sportiness, but also about functionality.
That is why the new Roadster claims a range of 1000 kilometres between charges, offering great convenience in use. If in practice Tesla’s batteries deliver what is claimed, we will witness how electric vehicles solve one of their biggest problems. At the same time, the small sports car offers four seats. Yes, it is capable of carrying four people from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds.

The manufacturing process for these products will surely be slow, and we will not see any on the streets for several years, but Tesla already allows reservations. To get the new Roadster before anyone else, a deposit of 50,000 dollars must be paid and the final price of the electric sports car is 200,000 dollars.
