New Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: now on sale from €35,100

The new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid goes on sale starting at €35,100, with added benefits when purchased through Pay Per Drive.

The new Toyota RAV4, the fifth generation of the best-selling crossover in the world, is now available at dealerships. In the Spanish market it will be offered exclusively as a hybrid. Toyota has just announced the launch price: €35,100 for the entry-level version, in Feel! trim. Customers who complete the purchase of the new RAV4 now will receive their cars at the end of January 2019, when deliveries begin.

Among the alternatives to the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, besides all the SUVs in this category with petrol or diesel engines, if we focus on hybrids we find the new Lexus UX 250h, smaller, less powerful and available from €33,900. Its most direct rival is the also new Honda CR-V.

Additional benefits when financing the purchase

An important detail for those interested in the new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is the brand’s offer for customers who opt for the attractive Pay Per Drive usage-based financing plan. This plan allows you to enjoy a RAV4 Hybrid for a monthly fee of €300 (financing period of 49 months), with a series of additional benefits. To start with, it includes the Toyota 4LIFE programme free of charge, which covers the extension of the warranty to 4 years and the first four maintenance services. In addition, the offer includes the Toyota Touch & GO multimedia and navigation system and a JBL Xtreme 2 portable speaker.

For now, the new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is offered in Feel! and Luxury trims with 4×2 drive. The 4×4 variants will arrive later, along with more equipment versions. The Feel! version already comes as standard with two-tone paint, 18-inch alloy wheels, partial leather upholstery, LED headlights, JBL audio system, 7-inch colour TFT screen, wireless phone charger, keyless entry and start system, and all the safety features of the Toyota Safety Sense package.

The Luxury version adds rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot detection, navigation, a rear camera integrated into the rear-view mirror, automatic tailgate opening sensor and leather upholstery.

A look at the features of the new RAV4 Hybrid

Besides a radical change of image compared with the fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 Hybrid we tested a few months ago, the new RAV4 is based on Toyota’s TNGA platform, which means lightness, robustness and a low centre of gravity. Under the bonnet we find the new generation of the hybrid propulsion system, which now uses a 2.5-litre petrol engine replacing the previous 2.0. The petrol engine is assisted by one or two electric motors depending on whether it is the 4×2 or 4×4 version, with a power output of 218 or 222 CV respectively.

Optimised to run in electric mode for longer, the homologated average consumption starts at 4.5 l/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 103 g/km. As with all hybrid-powered cars, the new RAV4 Hybrid also benefits from all the advantages granted by the DGT ECO label.

Externally, the new RAV4 keeps its proportions, with a length of 4.6 metres, a width of 1.85 metres (+1 cm) and a wheelbase of 2.69 metres (increased by 3 cm here). It promises a roomier interior and almost 80 litres more boot capacity.
