Official information and images of the new Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG

The German manufacturer has not kept us waiting any longer and has unveiled the most powerful version of the new-generation E-Class. More sporty, dynamic and efficient, the new E63 AMG stands out even more than the standard versions of the saloon thanks to several elements inherited from the SL63 AMG. It retains the naturally aspirated 6.2 V8 engine, but this time it produces 525 horsepower, 8 more than before, and 630 Nm of peak torque.
Together with the AMG Speedshift gearbox with seven speeds and paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, the E63 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Its top speed, as has become customary, is electronically limited to 250 km/h. This gearbox comes with four driving modes: “C” (low consumption), “S” (sport), “S+” and “M” (manual), plus a sport launch function (Race Start). Likewise, the modifications to the engine and gearbox achieve a provisional consumption of 12.6 litres per 100 km, the lowest in its class of saloons.
To manage this performance, the E63 AMG has a suspension set up specifically to deliver high-performance behaviour while retaining the comfort of a saloon. This is made possible by the AMG Ride Control system, which allows the driver to choose three suspension modes at the touch of a button: Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus.
The three-stage ESP, found on the C63 and SL63 AMG, can also be adjusted to taste: it can be activated, given sporty parameters, or switched off completely. The sporty elements of the E63 are complemented by AMG brakes featuring 360 mm perforated discs and specific 18-inch wheels fitted with 255/40 R 18 tyres at the front and 285/35 R 18 at the rear.
Outside, the E63 AMG is distinguished by the air intakes in the front bumper (which include LED lights), darkened headlights, “6.3 AMG” badges on the sides in recesses beside the doors, wheel arches 17 mm wider, sporty skirts, a rear diffuser and four rectangular exhaust outlets. Inside, the AMG touch is also evident in the sporty electric leather seats, the specific four-spoke steering wheel and the AMG Drive Unit interface, which allows control of several mechanical options of the car.
Naturally, it includes all the safety innovations fitted to the new E-Class, such as the night vision system and collision prevention. But if all that is not enough, AMG offers a package called Performance that includes additional elements such as exclusively designed 19-inch wheels, an even sportier suspension, a new three-spoke steering wheel and a small boot spoiler to improve aerodynamics. Optionally, components in carbon fibre can be added both outside and inside. We leave you with the images.
