Camper vans are vehicles that are increasingly popular and that many drivers and their families use to enjoy well-deserved holidays and getaways. There are many models, and now the Opel Vivaro joins them, having undergone a transformation that equips everything needed to enjoy incredible getaways.

A company headquartered in the town of Lenggries has worked on a unit of this model to convert it into a camper van, which it has prepared in two versions, for two and for four occupants. Both versions share several features and technologies to improve driving and offer the same comfort, although capacity varies.

The onboard technology includes air conditioning, a multimedia system with digital radio, and driver assistance systems such as Brake and Hill Start Assist, cruise control and speed limiter, and the Rear Park Pilot parking assistant. In addition, it has been fitted with the Opel Off-road package, which among other things raises ground clearance by 25 millimetres and equips the Intelli-Grip traction system, allowing it to drive over sand, snow and mud.

It features a 2.0-litre engine, which delivers 145 CV and a maximum torque of 370 Nm. This unit is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

This version is designed to offer comfortable space for four people. It has two rear seats and a pop-up roof that allows sleeping on the roof of the vehicle. This roof is accessed from the front seats and offers a space of 1.20 x 1.95 metres. The sofa installed at the rear can also be converted into a bed of the same size, so all four people can sleep comfortably.

It is equipped with a functional kitchen with a sink featuring an automatic tap and fresh and grey water tanks, as well as a small fridge that keeps food fresh. A burner powered by a gas cartridge allows cooking on board the vehicle. The interior is covered in felt and features a Webasto auxiliary heating system, to keep the cabin warm on moderately cold nights.

The rear windows have curtains and there are LED lights to provide night lighting. These are powered by a second battery, which can be easily recharged. There are 220-volt power outlets both inside and outside.

This version is slightly different from the previous one. The pop-up roof is available, but it does not have a bed. It features a more comfortable sofa, which can also be converted into a bed of the same dimensions as in the other model, and the kitchen has two electric hobs instead of one gas burner. A folding table is included.

There are several optional extras in both cases, such as an awning, a Multirail for fitting a solar panel and even solar panels. It is also worth noting that the height of the Opel Alpincamper Vivaro is below two metres, so it is suitable for daily driving and for accessing underground car parks.
