Opel Eventos Geneva Motor Show
Opel at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show

The Geneva Motor Show has opened its doors, and among the brands that have decided to exhibit the most vehicles we find Opel, whose stand features no fewer than four striking new releases that we will gradually reveal in the following lines.
Perhaps the most eye-catching one, in my opinion, is the concept presentation of the new Zafira, a vehicle that, as you can see, is at a development stage very close to that of the production model that will finally go onto the assembly line, with few details changing compared to the model you can see in the main photo.

Alongside this model we have the much-discussed Ampera, the first hybrid vehicle from Opel developed on the same platform as the Chevrolet Volt which, just like the Chevrolet model, stands out for offering a range of 500 km, of which 60 km will be in fully electric mode.
Along with this enormous range, it is worth highlighting that the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 9 seconds or reach a top speed of 161 km/h, figures that, as you can see, are practically identical to those of its American sibling.

Alongside these two models, the ones undoubtedly attracting the most attention are the two Opel Insignia OPC, a beast equipped with a 2.8-litre V6 Turbo engine capable of delivering a whopping 325 CV and 400 Nm of maximum torque, enough to provide thrilling sensations for a saloon of this type, such as acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds.
This, combined with a really attractive design and certain systems such as the new electrically adjustable suspension from the cabin or a braking system manufactured by Brembo, visible behind enormous 19-inch wheels fitted as standard with 245/40 R20 tyres, will undoubtedly delight anyone who dares to purchase a unit.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the attractive Opel Antara present in Geneva, a vehicle with which we had already been able to take a few laps during our own road test, and which at the show featured a very striking look thanks to certain modifications to its bumpers and interior details.
