The Brussels Motor Show 2015 will feature new models that will reach the European market in the coming months. And not only in the private car market, but also in the commercial segment. The new Opel Corsa, in its three-door version, has been the basis for the Corsavan. It is a light commercial vehicle designed for urban deliveries that offers good load capacity with the versatility of a Corsa.

On the outside it does not reveal its commercial character, so it is practically a Corsa, but with a load capacity of 571 kg in a 920-litre space. In addition, it has a steel floor and a mid-height partition with tie-down rings that help stabilise and secure the load. A custom-cut rubber mat can be added, and a four-piece tray helps keep the load in place.

The Corsavan will be available with two engines. The first is a 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel, with outputs ranging from 70 to 95 CV. The top model in the range features a 1.3 CDTI engine producing 95 CV and has a maximum torque of 190 Nm. It leaves the factory with a Start&Stop system and complies with the Euro 6 emissions standard.

This allows it to achieve a consumption of 3.3 litres per 100 km on the combined cycle, a figure that corresponds to emissions of 88 g of CO2 per kilometre. The interior is designed so that work can be done in the vehicle, which can be used as an office.

To improve this aspect, the Corsavan features the connectivity system of the Opel, which is compatible with iOS and Android devices. It can also use the BrinGo navigator and listen to radio programmes and podcasts with Stitcher and Tuneln, as well as use the IntelliLink system to manage daily appointments, including via iPhone, thanks to its integration with iOS.

Being an adaptation of the basic car, it has all the driver assistance systems of that model, which makes it a commercial vehicle with all the features of the road car. Orders can be placed at dealerships starting in February, with deliveries arriving in March.
