Opel Vivaro Surf, a concept for enjoying leisure time in style

Commercial vehicles have an advantage over other types of vehicles. If desired, they can be turned into leisure vehicles, thanks to their considerable space and versatility. This is what the people behind Opel think, having converted a Opel Vivaro, one of their vans built for hard work, into a concept for enjoying leisure time.
The Opel Vivaro Surf allows sports equipment to be stored in a separate cabin, so passengers do not have to be close to it. This can prove very useful if we are talking about gear that may be dirty or damp. This vehicle, converted into a space for enjoying leisure time, will be presented at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, where the possibilities of this kind of solution for a van designed for work will be shown.

The seating configuration allows five or six people to travel very comfortably in the Opel Vivaro Surf, with no problem while this equipment is transported at the rear of the vehicle.
Its exterior appearance is based on the image we have of what a leisure vehicle, like a motorhome, should look like. This makes its purpose and the reason to use this version of the Vivaro quite clear. The 17-inch alloy wheels reinforce the sporty look without losing the elegance that should always be present.
The rear tailgate can be opened either manually or using the Open&Start automatic opening system, which also allows the vehicle to be started without keys. The cargo area is 5 metres long and has a payload of up to 2.9 tonnes, so practically anything can be carried. This offers many possibilities for enjoying leisure time with whatever equipment you need always close at hand.
The engine powering this concept is a 1.6 CDTI BiTurbo unit producing 140 CV, which delivers 340 Nm of maximum torque and allows the Opel Vivaro Surf to reach a top speed of 180 km/h. The ecoFLEX version offers a consumption of 6.1 litres per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 160 g/km.
