Tesla announces the Model X

Tesla-Model-x-14
For some time now we have been hearing about the production version of the Tesla Model X, a crossover that arrives to fill this segment in the lineup of the brand specializing in 100% electric vehicles. It should be remembered that off-road vehicles are one of the fastest-growing markets worldwide, and it is important for every brand to have one or several of these models available for its customers.

In this case, the Tesla X is designed to tackle terrain that is too demanding for most common cars, thanks to its all-wheel drive. It will be available with two batteries, which will determine its power and range. The first is 60 kWh, and the second, found in the top model of the range, is 85 kWh. The latter will allow the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h. Considering the car’s range of 350 km, it is a highly recommendable electric vehicle.

Deliveries of the first units of this Tesla Model X are scheduled for September 29, provided we take the tweets published by Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, at face value. The vehicles ready for delivery are the first of a run of 10,000 to 15,000 expected to be available during this first production batch. That is the number of units expected to be sold during these early production years.

It is not a cheap car, as it is expected to cost around $120,000 in its base version and $132,000 in the highest one. To reserve one, a deposit of $5,000 must be paid and you must wait until it is ready. As for its configuration, it shares at least 60% of its components with the Model S, the brand’s most popular model.

This Model X features two trunks, one at the front and another at the rear, thanks to its drivetrain, which does not require large parts such as a combustion engine. In addition, a third row of seats can be added as an option. Furthermore, its rear doors open upward, which is why they are called “Falcon Wing” and give it a sportier and more innovative look.

With initiatives and models like this, progress can be made in 100% electric vehicle technology, although the ones offered by Tesla are not exactly cheap or practical for everyone, unlike models from other brands that are aimed more at city use and more practical users. What do you think of this kind of car? Would you like to drive one of them?
