Munich will be the epicentre of many of the presentations of the automotive world taking place from 5 to 10 September, with the IAA Mobility 2023 in full swing. At hall B2, specifically at stand B20, Opel is ready to showcase its potential on the world stage. Anticipation is at its peak, as the spectacular Opel Experimental will be unveiled at a press conference at 11:00 CEST on 4 September.

However, attention is not limited to conventional vehicles. Opel is determined to take a bold step towards the future with the Opel Experimental, the brand’s visionary concept that will dazzle the audience with its modern styling, advanced features and intelligent aerodynamic solutions, or the Astra Sports Tourer Electric, one of the crown jewels in the line-up that undoubtedly stands out as one of the first fully electric estates. It will also announce a version of the iconic and vibrant Opel Corsa Electric with two powertrain options

Opel Experimental, the concept car made real

The Opel Experimental will debut on 4 September during the press conference at the IAA Summit, revealing its latest creation from Rüsselsheim to an international audience. The concept car’s elegant design stands out for its exterior lighting and bold contrasting graphics, bringing personality and sophistication to its striking silhouette. Its sharp, clean profile enhances the presence of the battery electric crossover, while its efficient design is reflected in intelligent aerodynamic solutions such as front and rear spoilers. The illuminated Opel Blitz at the front and rear, together with the Opel Vizor 4D, are highlights. Inside, the “space detox” frees up room and electrochromic fabrics create a wellbeing atmosphere.

Opel Astra Sports Tourer

The Astra Sports Tourer Electric from Opel, part of the Astra line, stands out for its bold design and eco-friendly performance. With an output of 115 kW / 156 CV, its electric motor delivers energetic acceleration and a maximum torque of 270 Nm when the accelerator is pressed. In addition, its top speed of 170 km/h surpasses other electric vehicles limited to 150 km/h or 160 km/h. Cargo space is no less impressive: with the rear seats up, it offers 516 litres of capacity, rising to 1,553 litres with the seats folded. Despite this, its kerb weight is just 1,760 kg, making it lighter than its competitors.

Opel Corsa Electric

Another novelty that will be present at the Munich Show is the Opel Corsa Electric, which features a modern, streamlined design with an eye-catching Opel Vizor adorning its front. Beyond its attractive exterior, it stands out for its interior features. It offers a digital cockpit option with an updated infotainment system, powered by the Snapdragon Cockpit platform from Qualcomm Technologies. This technology enhances cabin integration and adapts to the preferences of passengers. Under the bonnet, the Corsa Electric offers two electric motor options: a new version with 115 kW / 156 CV and up to 402 km of range, and a proven variant with 100 kW / 136 CV and up to 354 km of range according to the WLTP cycle.

Its turning circle of 7.20 m makes it ideal for delivering goods in urban areas. These vehicles cover a range of needs and add dynamism to the display.

The crown jewel: Corsa Rally Electric

Opel will make a notable presence not only in its exhibition space but also at the ADAC stands, its motorsport partner. In this context, the outstanding Corsa Rally Electric, designed by Elisa Klinkenberg, will be displayed in two locations. This vibrant “Art Car” in green, white, pink and red tones will bring freshness to the electric Corsa rally category, carrying the inscription “E[M]POWER!” in white letters on a black roof, symbolising both electric power and the growing empowerment of women in competition. The long-standing collaboration between Opel and ADAC has culminated in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup “powered by GSe“, the world’s first single-make electric rally cup, a clear example of a sustainable approach to motorsport.
