Opel Zafira by Tinkervan, the German people carrier becomes an ally for weekend adventures

As you know, vans and people carriers are on the rise thanks to the versatility they offer and the possibility of conversion to become your perfect allies on weekend adventures, a great example being the Opel Zafira, the model the German manufacturer used, in partnership with the Spanish specialist Tinkervan, to create a camper version of the Zafira.

With the new Opel Zafira by Tinkervan, the German brand aims to give you a versatile people carrier for any everyday use during the week, and for the weekend, when we dedicate more of our time to leisure and adventure, it becomes a vehicle that adapts to the demands of a spacious and comfortable camper thanks to the accessories included in it.

To do this, the Opel Zafira in size M was used as the base, and from the outside the first thing that catches the eye is its elevating roof with panoramic opening, which has been made from a new high-quality fabric that allows the front part of the roof to be fully opened, giving a greater sense of spaciousness inside and a total view of the outside. Housed in this roof is a 1.3 x 2 metre bed with an aluminium slatted base and flexible ergonomic slats, as well as two windows with insect screens, a winter window and an LED bedroom reading light. During the day, the high scissor lifts can be used to create a spacious and comfortable interior.

Inside, using the rear seats, there is another bed that works as a boot tray for everyday use or as a fixed bed for children, given its size of 1.4 x 1.15 metres, although it can also be converted in seconds into a 1.4 x 2 metre bed, perfect for adults. The comfort of this bed is guaranteed thanks to a viscoelastic mattress combined with high-density foam, and it can be dismantled and assembled quickly in five minutes.

On board, and depending on the trim level requested or the options we wish to include in our Zafira by Tinkervan, we can have elements such as the following:

• 100 Ah rechargeable lithium auxiliary battery with APP, recharged by the vehicle’s own operation
• Double-intensity interior LED lighting with soft or white light, with rear reading lights with USB sockets and light points on the tailgate and cargo area

The Opel Zafira by Tinkervan will only be available with the new 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 180 CV and 400 Nm of torque, which the brand announced last February, coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Let us remember that this engine significantly reduces its consumption and CO2 emissions thanks to the use of new direct injection and a new exhaust gas recirculation system, thus complying with the European Euro 6e standard.
