Paul Walker's five BMW M3 E36 Lightweights sold for over €900,000

The five units of the BMW M3 E36 Lightweight owned by Paul Walker were auctioned over the weekend, specifically at the famous Scottsdale Auction, better known as Barrett-Jackson.

At least 21 of the vehicles from the late actor Paul Walker’s spectacular car collection were auctioned at the same venue and on the same date, but these five limited and numbered edition BMW M3 E36 Lightweights particularly caught attention for the price they achieved, as the cars are in impeccable condition.

The auction of these five BMW M3 E36 Lightweight units passed into the hands of their new owners with no reserve and reached a very generous price.

The most valuable of the five Paul Walker BMW M3 E36 Lightweights is one that had only 7,402 kilometres on its odometer and sold for €315,000 before fees. The second unit of this spectacular limited and numbered classic sports car has 8,419 kilometres and sold for just over €210,000.

The third unit sold for around €200,000 with 22,986 kilometres. The fourth and fifth units of the BMW M3 E36 Lightweight sold for around €180,000 each. The fourth has 24,920 kilometres and the fifth 55,361 kilometres.

BMW M3 E36 Lightweight, five highly sought-after units

It is believed that BMW built only between 120 and 126 units of the BMW E36 M3 Lightweight. All the prized units left the factory painted in Alpine White III, and most came equipped with checkered graphics simulating the flags of BMW Motorsport. However, one of the five sold from Paul Walker’s collection did not have these graphics.

Under the skin of the BMW M3 E36 Lightweight is a 3.0-litre naturally aspirated inline six-cylinder engine that delivers 243 CV and 305 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. Each of the five cars sold was in excellent condition, both inside and out.

Other models owned by the actor Paul Walker were also sold over the weekend. These included a modified Nissan 370Z from Fast Five, which sold for around €100,000. Among the most affordable cars offered for sale, Paul Walker’s fans were able to bid on and acquire vehicles at more modest prices. This was the case with the Ford F-250 Pick-Up for $19,800, the 1963 Chevrolet Nova Wagon for $18,700, and the Toyota Tundra Pick-Up for $16,500.
