Perhaps this Urban Automotive preparation is the best you will see on a Rolls-Royce Ghost

After unveiling it at SEMA, Urban Automotive has begun selling its kit to transform the Rolls-Royce Ghost into a more radical and eye-catching saloon

It probably isn’t the fastest off the line due to its weight, nor will it perform like the best on a track or a mountain road since it wasn’t designed for that, but the Rolls-Royce Ghost is, in my opinion, one of the best bases for tuning aesthetic upgrades, as shown by the latest project carried out by Mansory on this model.

Although the Mansory version may strike you as overloaded and even a bit brash, to put it one way, until the British specialists at Urban Automotive, based in Milton Keynes, presented their work on the Rolls-Royce Ghost at last October’s SEMA, the unavoidable event for lovers of tuning, which is now finally available to every fortunate owner of this vehicle who wants to give it a more radical and sporty look.

Using the most recent Rolls-Royce Ghost as a base, presented in 2020, the team at Urban Automotive dresses it in a series of parts made from carbon fibre, some of which are painted in the same colour as the bodywork while others leave the material exposed. The front features a bumper that reworks the lower half, with more discreet air intakes than the standard ones but undoubtedly giving it a more radical image, including new lights at the ends and a lower lip that further reinforces this look.

On the sides, Urban Automotive proposes for the Rolls-Royce Ghost some subtle side skirts that follow the line of the front splitter, framed by different wheel designs available in 22 or 24 inches, although the British also offer as an option two types of forged wheel designs manufactured by Vossen, some very eye-catching with a classic cut and others with a more sporty design. At the rear, the carbon fibre is more visible, present in the rear diffuser included in the redesigned bumper with side air outlets and in the discreet spoiler positioned above the boot. All of this is complemented by the absence of chrome trim, replaced by gloss black, a colour that works very well when you want to add sportiness.

Inside the Rolls-Royce Ghost, customers can let their imagination run free, maintaining all the luxury and exclusivity that a model like this deserves, supported by carbon fibre, as Urban Automotive can replace all inserts and trim with carbon fibre in various finishes, offering bespoke personalisation while guaranteeing the same levels of quality, style and durability. All these parts are handmade at Urban Automotive’s facility, starting with a complete 3D scan of the vehicle, working to a precision level of 0.03 mm.

The mechanical side receives no modifications, so the 6.76-litre twin-turbo V12 remains, capable of delivering 675 CV together with 850 Nm of torque managed through the eight-speed automatic gearbox, allowing the Ghost to accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. In this area, the only available modification is the exhaust system signed by Milltek, offered as an option with aluminium finished tailpipes, capable of slightly increasing power while delivering a unique and unmatched sound.
