Peugeot 508 Sport: the most powerful hybrid in the range
The French brand gives us a first look at its new Peugeot 508 Sport, the most powerful variant in its range. This novel model will be a hybrid and we will be able to see it at the next Geneva Motor Show.
However, this proposal is just a preview of the upcoming range of electrified sports cars from Peugeot, powerful, low-emission versions the brand calls Neo-performance within the Peugeot Motion & e-Motion family.
The Peugeot 508 Sport outperforms in performance the figures of the GT or Hybrid variants. On the other hand, its design is inspired by models such as the Peugeot 208 Hybrid or the Peugeot 308 Hybrid. A design in kryptonite colour, made of carbon fibre, with a state-of-the-art interior.
Peugeot 508 Sport: three motors and astonishing power
The Peugeot 508 Sport features three motors working together as a hybrid propulsion system with all-wheel drive. At the front there is a 200 PureTech petrol engine, a 203 hp electric motor at the rear and, finally, another 112 hp electric motor that works alongside the petrol engine. As for torque, it does not fall behind either, with 500 Nm.
According to the brand’s data, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and, although consumption has not been announced, its CO2 emissions are rated at 49 g/km. Furthermore, Peugeot incorporates a battery that supplies the electric motors, 11.8 kWh of power, giving it a pure-electric range of 50 km.
Similarly, specific modifications have been made to the chassis of the Peugeot 508 Sport, for example, lowering its ride height and widening the track. To make the most of this potential, it also features tyres suited to its performance, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S high-performance tyres, mounted on 20-inch alloy wheels.
State-of-the-art interior
Finally, the interior of this Peugeot 508 Sport features the i-Cockpit, with a 12.3″ instrument cluster, a 10″ touchscreen, a reduced-diameter steering wheel with carbon trim and comfort leather seats, which give it a much sportier feel than the standard versions of the base model.
