RCZ R 2

The sportiest version of the most sporty model in the range Peugeot. That’s how we could define the RCZ R, the most aggressive and high-performance option within the most attractive coupé body of the lion brand.

After years of waiting, Peugeot has finally dared to launch a very spicy version to the market, in this case with 270 CV, which will be on display this weekend at the Goodwood festival, England.

The Peugeot RCZ R stands as one of the most rapid and powerful Peugeot models in the brand’s history, equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-litre THP petrol engine producing 270 CV AND 330 Nm, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The exterior of the RCZ R sets it apart from its siblings in the range thanks to a more sporty overall design, with 19″ alloy wheels, darkened headlights and lowered suspension.

Speaking of suspension, this model’s chassis also features specific tuning, with suspension set up by the Peugeot Sport division, as well as the exhaust system and a Torsen limited-slip differential that improves traction and vehicle dynamics. The braking system is also specific and has been upsized, combining 380 mm diameter discs with 4-piston fixed calipers.

Although the performance figures are very high, fuel consumption has not soared at all, with an approved 6.3 l/100 km on the combined cycle, making it one of the sports cars with the most favourable consumption-to-performance ratio.
The Peugeot RCZ R will be officially presented at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, and will demonstrate its dynamic capabilities this same weekend at the Goodwood Festival. Its main rivals will be the Nissan 370Z, the Porsche Cayman and the Audi TTS.
