Peugeot RCZ R Concept, 260 CV for the most sporty Lion

Peugeot will bring to the Paris Motor Show an RCZ with more than 260 CV, the R Concept.

When I first saw the images of the facelift of the Peugeot RCZ I must admit I was surprised, and in a good way. This model will reach the market in 2013 and we will see it at the Paris Motor Show, but it will not come alone. Alongside it, the Lion brand will present to the public what could be its most sporty coupe ever built, the RCZ R Concept.

The prototype previews the lines of the production model, where we will see not only a striking style and a very racing look, but also a vehicle designed to be fun from start to finish. The main reason lies in the engine developed between PSA and the BMW group.

All the fury shown by the bodywork will be transmitted to the road thanks to a new 1.6-litre supercharged block with Twin-Power Turbo technology, delivering no less than 260 CV of power. A truly tight engine; let us hope it is as reliable as it is fast.

The main problem I see with this car is that all that power will not be lost through the mouth but through the front axle. Steering and engine control through just two wheels. That seems excessive to me. For this reason, the engineers have tuned the chassis and fitted a Torsen-type differential to keep everything under control.

The natural future rival of the Audi TT-S could reach dealerships at the end of this year. The war is coming.
