Porsche has published the first official images of the latest generation 911 GT3 2013 ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Much about this vehicle, capable of running flat-out on the track and then returning comfortably to the home garage, remains unknown. Tomorrow it will be presented on the brand’s stand alongside the 918 Spyder.

The naturally aspirated six-cylinder supercar will feature an automatic gearbox for the first time. For this application, the engineers have opted for the famous and successful PDK double-clutch unit with seven gears and steering-wheel paddles. Connected to it will be an engine that is likely to displace 3.8 litres and deliver between 450 and 500 CV to the rear wheels.

The weight is also expected to be lower than the previous generation (997), so the 0 to 100 km/h sprint should take less than four seconds and its top speed should exceed 320 km/h.

In terms of design, the body is noticeably wider, mainly thanks to larger rear wings. The front bumper is also bigger, and much more aggressive and aerodynamic. At the rear we find the iconic spoiler of the 911 GT models, a double exhaust outlet in central position and, finally, 20-inch single-lock wheels housing high-performance carbon-ceramic brakes.
