Porsche 918 Spyder, new photos

This week, Porsche stunned the world with the official launch of the definitive 918 Spyder. It was presented as the rival to LaFerrari and the McLaren P1. The German alternative to the dream supercars of England and Italy had arrived, with Stuttgart staying in the game and doing so stronger than ever, with a high-performance model and compact-car consumption.
Experts criticised a very conservative design, while the models from Woking and Maranello stand out for their aggressive lines, showing at first glance the potential hidden under the bonnet. But let’s not kid ourselves: a Porsche is a Porsche and this time it doesn’t have one or two engines, but three, three engines that send their power to all four wheels, something that McLaren and the Prancing Horse brand cannot boast about.

All-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, two electric motors, 880 CV of power, 1,640 kg of weight, an average homologated consumption of 3 litres/100 km and active aerodynamics are some of the most outstanding features of the Porsche 918 Spyder. Just ask the executives at Ferrari and McLaren. World War III is about to reach the circuits, and only one will be the winner. The battle is on.
Porsche has already been able to confirm that the first 918 Spyder prototypes, with 770 CV of power, managed to lap the more than 20 km of the Nürburgring in seven minutes and fourteen seconds. At Highmotor we eagerly await to see how the more than 900 CV of the P1 and LaFerrari perform on Porsche’s home turf.
