Porsche Macan GTS: the sporty version of the German SUV arrives

The new Porsche Macan range now includes a GTS version, with a 380 CV twin-turbo V6 engine, priced from 90,354 euros.

Porsche completes its new Porsche Macan range with the sporty GTS version, which sits in terms of power and price between the Macan S and the Macan Turbo. As well as mechanical updates, it also features a chassis with a specific tuning setup and extensive equipment.

The twin-turbo V6 engine with 2.9 litres gains 20 CV over the previous model, reaching 380 CV and a maximum torque of 520 Nm between 1,750 and 5,000 rpm. Coupled to the new PDK dual-clutch gearbox and with the Sport Chrono sport package, this engine allows the Macan GTS to break the 5-second barrier for 0 to 100 km/h, improving the previous record by 3 tenths and needing just 4.7 seconds. Top speed is 261 km/h.

Porsche has also incorporated a new sport exhaust system that delivers a sound specifically tailored to this model.

A sports chassis for an asphalt SUV

Everything in the Porsche Macan GTS is oriented towards maximum enjoyment of sporty driving. This may seem contradictory in an SUV, but Porsche has already amply demonstrated that this is not the case with the Macan.

To achieve this, the Porsche Active Suspension MAnagement (PASM) suspension receives specific settings, and the body height has been lowered by 15 mm. Optionally, the adaptive air suspension can be fitted, which lowers the chassis a further 10 mm.

As standard, the wheels are 20 inches, and the brakes feature steel discs measuring 360 mm at the front and 330 mm on the rear axle. Porsche optionally offers the possibility to upgrade the standard brakes with two alternatives: PSBC brakes, with discs coated in tungsten carbide, or PCCB brakes with ceramic discs.

Exclusive equipment of the Porsche Macan GTS

Among the exclusive equipment details associated with the Macan GTS is the Sport Design package, which includes exterior design details specific to this version. The LED headlights with the adaptive Porsche Dynamic Light System are blacked out, and the wheels are painted gloss black with red brake calipers.

Inside, the standout features are the sports seats upholstered in Alcantara, which is also present on the door panels and the centre console. The multifunction steering wheel has a design specific to this version and can optionally be fitted with elements such as red upholstery, the BOSE audio system or wireless inductive charging for mobile phones.

The price of the Porsche Macan GTS is 90,354 euros, about 18,000 euros more than the 355 CV Macan S, and roughly 12,000 euros less than the 441 CV Macan Turbo.
