Porsche opens its ninth Charging Lounge in Germany

This ninth Charging Lounge of Porsche joins those located in Bingen am Rhein, Estenfeld, Hamburg, Ingolstadt, Leonberg and Ringsheim in Germany, as well as the one in Koblach in Austria and the one in Nyon in Switzerland.

Porsche continues to expand its premium charging infrastructure, exclusive to owners of one of its electrically powered vehicles, with the opening in the German town of Lüneburg Heath, in Lower Saxony, of its ninth Charging Lounge. This innovative space, strategically located near the Evendorf/Nordheide exit of the A7 motorway, becomes the second facility of this type on this important route, alongside the existing one in Estenfeld, near Würzburg.

The ninth Charging Lounge now opened by the Stuttgart-based company in Germany has six DC fast-charging points, each capable of delivering a constant maximum of 400 kW, even when all of them are in use simultaneously.

In this way, the German manufacturer ensures that a latest-generation Taycan can increase its battery charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes, while a Macan does so in 21 minutes. With facilities of this kind, Porsche takes pride in offering an unmatched charging experience for drivers of the brand’s vehicles.

You won’t want to leave so soon

The Charging Lounges of Porsche stand out not only for the high charging power offered by the charging points available at each station. The customer experience at each of them has nothing to do with that offered by conventional charging networks of competitors. The design of the site combines functionality and comfort, offering inside a welcoming space with lounge chairs, food, drinks, two bathrooms and Wi-Fi connection. It is, in short, an ideal setting to relax while charging. Likewise, outdoors there are covered areas with seating equipped with speakers.

On the other hand, it should be noted that access to both the lounge and the charging points is restricted exclusively to owners of Porsche vehicles, who are required to identify themselves using their Porsche ID. This identification can be done through number plate recognition at the entry barriers, by using a Porsche charging card, or by scanning a QR code from the My Porsche app. Drivers of a vehicle of the brand can register their number plate through the Porsche mobile app, which will allow their recognition from that moment on.

Drivers of a Porsche can thus enjoy a premium space in which to relax, with the added peace of mind that access is limited and, therefore, the level of security is much higher.

How much does it cost to charge at a Porsche Charging Lounge?

Regarding charging costs, users of the Porsche Charging Service Plus plan, which requires a monthly subscription of 16.99 euros, must pay 0.39 euros per kWh consumed when charging. This plan allows charging at this price at Porsche’s Charging Lounges, as well as at preferred partner stations such as Aral Pulse, IONITY, Audi, Porsche factories and dealerships.

Additionally, with the basic tariff, the cost per kWh consumed rises to 0.49 euros at the Charging Lounges and to 0.74 euros at third-party stations.
