Porsche's Boxster and 911 bring back the Black Edition in 2015

Four years ago, Porsche launched in the spring two limited series Black Edition for the Boxster S and 911 Carrera. The ranges of both models will once again incorporate these versions in 2015, although on this occasion the German manufacturer has not specified how many units will be available to the public or their prices for Spain.
Unlike the 2011 version, the new Boxster Black Edition will only be offered with its most affordable trim, equipped with the 2.7-liter engine producing 265 CV. It features Carrera Classic-style twenty-inch wheels, a roll hoop finished in black, bi-xenon headlights with PDLS technology (Porsche Dynamic Light System), the Porsche badge engraved on the headrests, and the Black Edition logo on the door sill trims.

The 911 Black Edition can be combined with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, as well as coupé and convertible bodies. It comes standard with Turbo-style twenty-inch wheels and shares the namesake Boxster’s PDLS, the specific logos on the headrests and lower door panels, and the black interior trim decoration.
Both the two-seat convertible and the sports coupé come standard with the SportDesign steering wheel and the Porsche Communication Management multimedia system with navigation and, in the case of the 911, a rear-view camera. Based on the prices announced for Germany, the Boxster Black Edition costs just over 8,500 euros more than the standard Boxster, while the 911 Black Edition requires about 4,600 euros of extra cost compared to the Carrera Coupé.
If these differences are maintained in the official prices announced for Porsche Spain, these Black Editions will be more expensive than those of 2011, especially the 911. Although the increases are logical, the equipment they add to that included in the standard models has barely changed since then.
