Posaidon turns the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe into a machine with nearly 1,000 CV

The German tuning workshop offers an upgrade for this model that exceeds 900 CV and dramatically raises performance.

From time to time we like to bring you some transformation carried out by a specialist workshop dedicated to creating new versions of great cars. These projects are usually handled by specialist workshops that turn production models into marvellous machines that surpass the original. The Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupé is a formidable car, but Posaidon, a tuner based in Germany, has worked on this model to give it considerably more power than its rated output.

The workshop believes that modifying a model means subjecting it to a power increase and improving the performance of its engine. Thanks to the work carried out, the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that comes standard with a power output of 603 CV and 900 Nm of peak torque exceeds that figure by far, delivering a much more engaging driving experience.

This version that Posaidon has just unveiled delivers 927 CV and peak torque of 1,280 Nm. These figures let the driver discover new sensations, so it is worth considering. To achieve this, Posaidon has replaced the turbos with high-performance parts featuring ball bearings, fitted downpipes with sporting catalytic converters, a sports air filter, replaced the cylinder head ports, improved the valves and added a water/methanol injection system with an optional tank. They have also updated the engine and transmission software.

With all this, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 2.8 seconds and propels the car to a top speed of 350 km/h. With these modifications, the price of the car rises by 52,000 euros, although if you want other modifications, there are other, less powerful variants.

The version reaching 868 CV and 1,200 Nm of engine torque also reaches 350 km/h, with acceleration of 2.9 seconds. Although it lacks as much power as the previous one, it is also a very efficient machine that offers more power than the base model. The price of this upgrade is 29,990 euros, but there is another variant that is even more affordable.

This one allows reaching 818 CV and a torque of 1,100 Nm. It is slightly less powerful, although it reaches 100 km/h in 3 seconds. The price of this upgrade is somewhat lower, 29,099 euros. But if you want a variant as striking as these at a much lower price, 4,200 euros gets you a software update, so you can gain more power without carrying out all these modifications.

And if you prefer something even more intense, Posaidon is working on a version that reaches 1,000 CV, in a kit that can also be adapted to the same engine as the rest of the kits. A marvellous opportunity to make the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupé even more spectacular.
