Production of the new Mercedes Vito begins at the Vitoria plant

Today the first unit of the new Mercedes Vito rolled off the Mercedes plant in Vitoria. The van replaces the previous model from the German brand. The new generation of the popular German mid-range van has been welcomed with satisfaction by Mercedes, which believes it will set several standards in the segment.
The Mercedes Vito has a maximum authorised mass of 2.5 to 3.2 tonnes, with fairly low consumption for its weight, 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres thanks to its different diesel engines. It will also be available in three versions, with front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, allowing buyers to choose the option that best suits their needs.
The new Mercedes Vito has managed to reduce diesel engine consumption by up to 20% according to the NEFZ cycle and compared with its predecessor. Rear-wheel-drive models and all Tourer versions with automatic gearbox come with the BlueEfficiency package, which delivers considerable fuel savings.
The figure of 5.7 litres per 100 km was recorded by the Vito 116 CDI with BlueEfficiency package, one of the most efficient in the new generation. The front-wheel-drive version has a transversely mounted four-cylinder 1.6-litre engine with two power outputs, 88 CV and 114 CV.
The rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, meanwhile, use a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, available in three power levels, 136, 163 and 190 CV. The Vito 119 BlueTEC will be the first van to incorporate an engine that already meets the Euro 6 standard.

Equipment has also been improved in this new generation of the Mercedes Vito. A tyre pressure sensor and a driver fatigue warning system are among the innovations the new Mercedes Vito features. It also optionally fits a blind-spot warning system, parking assistance and lane change detection.
It also features the LED Intelligent Light System instead of the standard halogen headlights. The system includes LED indicators, LED daytime running lights, and dipped beam, main beam and cornering lights, all with LED technology. Depending on speed, the headlights adapt their light distribution to the demands of motorway and country road driving.
The first market to receive it will be Germany, where it will arrive in November priced at 17,990 euros excluding VAT. It will then be introduced in other markets, starting with European countries.
