Land Rover Range Rover Electric Cars SUV
Range Rover could launch its first electric car at the end of 2021
The first electric Range Rover could arrive at the end of 2021. It will be a mid-size SUV that will sit between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Velar.

Range Rover could launch its first electric car at the end of 2021, and Jaguar Land Rover has not hesitated to make public its intentions to prepare a range of electric vehicles, but most of the attention has focused on Jaguar, since it already has the Jaguar I-Pace, which was awarded the Car of the Year prize.
Land Rover also plans to launch electric cars. According to some reports, the Land Rover model could be being developed alongside the Jaguar XJ, and it is rumored that it will compete with models such as the Audi E-Tron Sportback and the Porsche electric Macan.

The crossover has been called Road Rover, but it is now beginning to be known as the “mid-size SUV”. As its nickname suggests, the model will be mid-sized and will sit between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Velar in terms of size.
However, it will have a much lower roofline and a more elegant front end to maximise its aerodynamics. Although it will be smaller than the Range Rover Velar, it will have a very spacious cabin and will be equipped with a series of high-tech features such as a digital instrument cluster or a Touch Pro Duo infotainment system.

How will the first electric Range Rover arriving in 2021 look?
Little more is known about the future electrified model, but everything points to it being built on the Modular Longitudinal Platform and becoming the most road-focused Range Rover ever created. However, the electric SUV should retain some off-road credibility, as it will have two electric motors and all-wheel drive.
There is no information on specifications at this time, but the platform has been designed to accommodate batteries with a capacity of up to 90.2 kWh. This means the model could have a range of up to 467 km on a single charge.

It is important to note that although Jaguar Land Rover has registered the name Road Rover, the name the model will ultimately take is unknown. The launch of the model could make the brand more appealing in China, where drivers demand both large premium SUVs and electric cars.
Ralf Speth, the company’s chief, has assured that “we will launch things to expand the product portfolio. We will not stand still. So you can expect these new models, but also updates to our existing models.” The electric crossover will be one of the key models in the continuous expansion and reinvention of the Jaguar Land Rover line-up.

In the presentation to investors earlier this year, the company’s heads said they plan to launch 14 new or updated models in the 2020 financial year, including electrified versions of existing models and 16 more from 2021 onwards. From next year, all new Jaguar Land Rover models will be offered with an electrified variant, either a plug-in hybrid or fully electric.
