Range Rover Sport HST, the first Range Rover mild hybrid arrives, and these are the figures that prove its virtues
The new Range Rover HST features a 48-volt mild hybrid system, which powers the SUV’s electrical systems and reduces consumption

The first Range Rover with mild hybrid technology arrives, known as Mild Hybrid, featuring a 48-volt hybrid system that supplies energy to the SUV’s electrical system. To deliver power to the Range Rover HST, a six-cylinder inline engine has been chosen, offering 695 CV of power and 550 Nm of peak torque. This engine replaces the V6 block used in the previous version and is special due to the introduction of an electric supercharger and a new turbocharger.
This engine makes it possible to reduce the SUV’s consumption and emissions. The vehicle’s average consumption is 9.3 litres per 100 kilometres, while its pollutant gas emissions are 213 g/km, 12% less than the V6 engine, and up to 75% lower particulate emissions. The electrical system powers a Stop&Start device, which activates when the engine decelerates, and recovers energy through braking and deceleration. The electricity generated at these moments is stored in a 48-volt battery. This stored energy is used, for example, to assist with pulling away from a standstill, where a little extra power is required.

The new engine of the Range Rover HST delivers an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 225 km/h, figures that are more than acceptable for this interesting SUV variant, which earns the ECO label guaranteeing its more environmentally friendly character. The power and speed figures are boosted by a twin-entry turbocharger, also called Twin Scroll, which helps make it more agile and powerful.
