Alpine Renault Concepts Sports Cars Geneva Motor Show
Renault Alpine Vision, a gorgeous sports car that is 80% real

Today is a big day for every motorsport enthusiast with a bit of historical memory. If you remember the Alpines, sit back, because the news deserves it.
The rebirth of a brand is always -or almost always- a reason for joy. Today, Alpine rises from its ashes with its first model, still as a concept, named Renault Alpine Vision.
The history of Alpine as a car manufacturer dates back to 1955, when Jean Rédélé, a workshop foreman from Dieppe, began to become known for his competition successes thanks to the preparation of French vehicles. This success gradually brought notoriety and new models, making him one of the best-known motorsport tuners in the world.
However, its short history ended in 1995, only 40 years after its birth, with the A610 model. Despite being owned by Renault, the company with the diamond logo has not decided to exploit the potential of this brand until now, when for some time it has begun to “breathe” new life into Alpine through some concepts.

It seems that 2016 will finally be the year of Alpine’s rebirth as we know it. After some prototypes completely detached from reality, such as the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo, today the president of Renault, Carlos Ghosn, announced that production of the first model of Alpine’s new era will begin at the end of 2016, based on the prototype you can see in the photographs.
This small sports car is characterized by its aggressiveness and lightness more than its raw power
Named Renault Alpine Vision, this small concept sports car will become a reality at least 80%. The Alpine Vision has been presented with a very promising look, thanks to a design that shares many similarities with some of its siblings from 30 or 40 years ago. The references to the past will indeed be one of the pillars of the new Alpine.
The Alpine Vision shows very attractive lines, which combined with a lightweight construction weighing less than 1100 kg, makes it a pure sports car. The engine that will power this model is not yet known, but there are rumors of a possible fitment of the 1.6 Turbo that powers models like the current Clio RS or Megane GT, with a bit more power to reach 250 CV.
At the next Geneva Motor Show, the people at Alpine will show us more details of this small sports car. We are already counting the hours to get our hands on it.
