Renault Arkana 2024: new design and sporty version for the Coupé SUV
The long-awaited launch of the Coupé SUV has finally arrived, with a refreshed exterior design, hybrid technology and a sporty design version, the Esprit Alpine.

Renault is proud to unveil the new look of the coupé SUV in the C-segment, the Renault Arkana 2024, which now joins the broad range the brand offers. This updated version is joined by a new sporty version called Esprit Alpine, with a sporty and highly elegant look.
The Arkana, first presented in Europe in October 2020 with its TCe mild-hybrid 1.3 140 CV versions and with more than 163,000 units sold (240,000 including the XM3 model from Renault Korea Motors), this distinctive coupé SUV has played a key role in the recovery of the C-segment, together with the Megane E-Tech, fully electric, the new Renault Austral and its bigger brother, the Renault Rafale
.
The top-of-the-range versions, R.S. Line and now the new Esprit Alpine
, have contributed greatly to its success, accounting for 53% of sales in Europe in 2023.
New design for the 2024 model
We have noticed several novelties in its design compared with the previous version. The new Arkana, besides its original and captivating design, incorporates the brand’s new identity, in line with the “Nouvelle Vague“. As for the new visual identity, the Arkana features the Renault «Nouvel’R» logo integrated into the front
, next to the headlights, framed by a glossy black border that adds elegance. The grille features a new pattern based on repeated unstructured rhombuses, which stand out visually thanks to a 3D effect. Depending on the version, these lines come in black, chrome or satin, which differentiates them from one another.
The aerodynamic blade that was found on the R.S. Line and E-Tech Engineered versions now adorns the front of the techno and Esprit Alpine versions of the range. On the techno version it is combined with the body colour, while on the Esprit Alpine it comes in an elegant satin grey tone.
At the rear, the central tailgate logo and the name letters feature a chrome black
finish, which will be the only thing visible in that tone, having replaced the chrome accents across the whole range with black. The headlights, meanwhile, have been slightly smoked to give a modern touch.
Esprit Alpine sporty version
The new Arkana range has been simplified to three trim levels: Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine. In addition, the equipment offer has been enriched, with navigation included as standard in the Renault EASY LINK
multimedia system from the Evolution version onward. The digital dashboard display has been optimised for better readability of information.
The new Esprit Alpine version stands out for its sporty and elegant design. It features glossy black details on the bumper, new 19-inch alloy wheels and a spoiler on the tailgate that follows the roofline. Inside, the seats are a mix of ECO TEP and Alcantara, with blue stitching and the Alpine logo on the backrest.
All these updates, together with the new “midnight blue” body colour, make the Arkana a unique model which, in addition, offers a wide range of available engines, including the 145 CV E-Tech full hybrid and the 140 and 160 CV petrol mild-hybrid
options.
145 CV hybrid powertrain
The new Arkana is based on the CMF-B modular platform developed by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The 145 CV E-Tech full hybrid engine combines two electric motors (one of 36 kW and an HSG starter motor of 18 kW) with a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 69 kW (94 CV), together with an intelligent multi-mode gearbox and a 1.2 kWh battery
.
The gearbox has 4 gears for the petrol engine and 2 gears for the main electric motor, offering up to 14 operating combinations between the combustion engine and the electric motor to optimise fuel efficiency.
Starting is always electric, and the car can be driven in fully electric mode up to 80% of the time in urban environments, achieving fuel savings of up to 40% compared with a petrol engine. With this technology, CO2 emissions are limited to just 105 g/km
, an excellent figure for an SUV.
The 145 CV E-Tech full hybrid engine of the Arkana also features the “e-save” function. This function, accessible via the central screen in the vehicle settings or driving mode on versions equipped with multi-sense settings, ensures that the battery charge is maintained above 40%. This provides a reserve of energy
for driving in electric mode or assisting the combustion engine on steep gradients, such as in mountainous areas.
