Renault Captur: the second production shift at Valladolid will start on Monday

In a gloomy motoring landscape, news like this makes us confident of a recovery of the sector going forward. Not long ago we told you about the good number of orders taken for the Peugeot 2008 in the Spanish market, but one of its rivals, the Renault Captur, is not far behind.
The French crossover began its commercial journey in our country just over a month ago and, according to what the chairman and chief executive of Renault Spain, José Vicente de los Mozos, has announced, the model has already sold more than 600 units in Spain, which is better news for the workers at the Valladolid plant.
To meet the agreed delivery deadlines, Renault will open the second production shift at the Valladolid plant, where production of the Captur will be intensified. The second production shift will begin operating next Monday, with the aim of reaching 1,000 units sold per month, a target that should be met in the coming months.
The opening of the second shift will make possible the creation of more jobs in the Spanish industrial sector. Specifically, this single new shift at the Valladolid plant will create 600 new jobs, 500 in Bodywork and Assembly and 100 more in the engine division.
A much-anticipated piece of news, framed by the 60th anniversary of the French company’s presence in this city, which has produced historic models such as the 4-4 or the Renault Siete.
