Renault celebrates the production of its 8 millionth vehicle at its Valladolid Factory
The diamond brand is celebrating after producing no fewer than eight million vehicles since it began operating back in 1972
More than 50 years after the Valladolid Factory was inaugurated under the name “Factoria de Montaje 2”, and with a total of 19 models having already passed through its production lines, Renault and its Valladolid plant are celebrating the manufacture of their eight millionth vehicle, a Renault Captur E-Tech engineered.
The first vehicle to leave the production line of the Renault factory in 1972 was a legendary Renault R8, which was later succeeded by models such as the R-5, the R-7, the R-12, the R-18, the R-9, the R-4, the R-11, the R-19, the Clio, the Twingo, the Modus, the Twizy and, most recently, the Captur, of which more than 2 million units have been produced at this factory since its production began in 2013.

The celebration model
Focusing on the star of the event, the eight millionth Captur E-Tech, it is the plug-in hybrid version of the model, equipped with a 105 kW (145 CV) engine and a maximum all-electric range of up to 50 kilometres. In terms of design, the Captur features a two-tone configuration in Azur Blue with a black roof and several details in Warm Titanium on the front bumper moulding, sill protectors and rear exhausts.
The director of the Valladolid Factory, José Manuel Fuentes, was joined at the moment the Captur rolled off the line by Josep María Recasens, Chief Strategy Officer of Renault Group and president of Renault in Spain and Portugal, by Thierry Charvet, EVP and Group Industry and Quality of Renault, and by José Martín Vega, director of the Vehicle Industrial Hub Iberia, as well as more than 200 factory employees who work on producing the compact SUV, which has been exported to more than 70 different destinations and has become the most produced model in the factory’s history.
