Renault positions itself as the leading seller of electric vehicles in Spain
Renault declares itself the leading seller of electric vehicles in Spain. The ZOE is the brand’s model with the most units sold, followed by the Kangoo and Twizy.

The electric vehicle revolution has arrived in force in our market, offering efficient, zero-emission models for our environment. Little by little, they have settled into the current market and improved all the drawbacks these vehicles had when they first went into production. One of the pioneering and most successful brands in Spain is, without a doubt, Renault, which became the sales leader in electric vehicles during 2017.
The French firm has dominated the electric market over the last year, which is reflected in the fact that one out of every three of these vehicles sold in Spain has been a Renault. As a result, the company has achieved a market share of 33.8%, which gives it a very good reputation in this field. At the same time, its success is due to the fact that the vast majority of Renault electric vehicles are geared toward urban use, a setting where they perform with great ease.
The Renault ZOE can boast of being the best-selling electric vehicle in the country, with more than 2,500 units produced since its launch in 2013. Without a doubt, 2017 has been a key year for electric vehicles and, surely, their sales will continue to grow throughout this new year. Another key factor in the ZOE’s success has been its impressive range, which gives the driver the possibility of covering up to 408 km.

At the same time, the ZOE has also been used as the leading vehicle in car-sharing companies, since it becomes the most suitable car for tackling the urban world in an economical way. But the electric city car has not been the only successful model from the company with the diamond logo, since, at the same time, we must give special mention to the Kangoo Z.E.
The Renault electric van has 299 units sold in Spain throughout 2017. Without a doubt, the commercial sector is betting on this type of vehicle, which is very beneficial since these vehicles emit large amounts of emissions alongside trucks. At the same time, the Renault Twizy also has a good number of sales, specifically 107 units sold during this year.

These figures are undoubtedly a good omen. Electric vehicles are here to stay and to make drivers’ lives much easier. At the same time, new batteries provide greater range and, at the same time, the economy of users of this type of vehicle will also benefit.
