Saab delays payments to 1,500 employees while asking for more time

Saab has once again had to suspend payments to 1,500 of its employees, while frantically negotiating with the Chinese and facing the hard stance of Guy Lofalk, the Swedish government’s administrator.

Bread and butter. Saab has once again had to delay payments to 1,500 of its employees for the third (or fourth) time in a few months, because cash is conspicuously absent in Trollhättan.

They still have the nerve to announce that the employees who have been left without their salaries will be rewarded with the additional efforts the company will make to pay them, along with the efforts to restart car production… A sermon that has been repeated to this day, every time Saab has had to stop paying its workers.

On the other hand, in the courts, while Guy Lofalk keeps calling for this to be brought to an end once and for all and for Saab to stop having the protection of the Swedish government, the company is asking for a little more time to close the deal with the Chinese. All of this leads me to wonder about a few things I can’t quite understand.

Where is North Street Capital’s investment? Weren’t the Chinese already ruled out? Will the only way out be to sell the whole company to them? Perhaps tomorrow we will have all the answers.
