Saab unveils the brand's first convertible built in Sweden, amid offers and counteroffers

We may or may not agree with the way GM is sinking Saab, but the truth is that work at Saab’s main plant in Sweden continues and at a good pace. Yesterday, the first convertible to leave the Saab factory, in the famous Trollhattan, rolled off the line.

Unfortunately, the news, which should be a corporate achievement for the Swedish brand, is buried under many doubts about the future of the Swedish brand.

Returning to the convertible in question, it is a 9-3, built in the same plant as the 9-3 (saloon), the current 9-5, along with the new 9-5. Saab’s intention had been to concentrate as many models as possible production in Sweden.

Some say that within the next 48 hours we will know Saab’s final decision. It is said that tomorrow a new offer will be presented from Genii Capital/Ecclestone, while some improvement is expected in Spyker’s own offer.
