SEAT engine range renewal

SEAT has renewed the engine range of its Ibiza, León, Altea and Exeo models. With these changes, performance and fuel consumption are improved.

All Ibiza body styles (5-door, SC and ST) replace the 105 CV 1.6 petrol engine with a new 105 CV 1.2 TSI. It is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, Start-Stop system and energy recovery on the Ecomotive version, and with a 7-speed DSG gearbox on the rest. The Ecomotive version achieves a consumption of 5.1 litres per 100 kilometres (119 g/km of CO2).


On the SEAT León and Altea, the 140 CV 2.0 TDI with pump-injector technology is replaced by the new 2.0 TDI of the same power and common rail technology. It is offered with both a manual gearbox and an automatic DSG gearbox.

The León 2.0 TDI with a 6-speed manual gearbox consumes 4.8 l/100 km (125 g/km of CO2). This represents a 15% reduction compared with the previous engine. The same model with the 6-speed DSG gearbox consumes 5.3 l/100 km (139 g/km of CO2).

Both the Altea 2.0 TDI and the Altea XL 2.0 TDI consume 4.9 l/100 km, which means emitting 129 g/km of CO2. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes 9.7 seconds and the top speed is 201 km/h. In the case of the Altea Freetrack, the consumption and emissions figures are 5.9 l/100 km and 155 g/km of CO2. This engine is not available on the Altea Freetrack with the DSG gearbox or in the two-wheel-drive version.

For its part, the Exeo incorporates the 120 CV 1.8 TSI petrol engine, replacing the 102 CV 1.6 unit, thereby becoming the entry-level version. With a maximum torque of 230 Nm “between 1,500 and 3,650 rpm”, the 1.8 TSI is capable of stopping the clock at 10.6 seconds when accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (an improvement of 2 seconds over the previous engine). The top speed is 202 km/h (previously 190 km/h). Consumption is 7.3 litres per 100 km for the saloon, and 7.4 litres for the Exeo ST estate version.
