SEAT grows considerably, breaking a sales record during the month of January

SEAT establishes itself as one of the best-selling brands this January. It has posted growth of 20.4% compared with 2017, with 38,900 units.

Car brands focus much of their efforts on significantly increasing their sales volume. In this way, their success grows steadily and they have a substantial economic backing that allows them to keep working on future models and new technology. However, some brands not only devote much of their time to positioning themselves as among the best-selling, but also break their own sales records. This has happened with SEAT, a company that this January has far surpassed the results of the previous year.

Throughout 2017 the Spanish firm gave us a large number of new vehicles, which have taken on segments never before worked by SEAT. We refer to the Ateca and the Arona, two vehicles that have proven their worth and have brought the brand a large sales volume despite their short time on the market. Furthermore, we must also highlight the introduction of the new Ibiza, a model that always becomes a great success.

The start of the year is always difficult for brands, since the aim is to achieve the best possible result in order to establish a steady pace. This is something SEAT has achieved with ease, since the firm has registered a total of 38,900 vehicles delivered throughout January, a figure that represents growth of 20.4% compared with 2017, when a total of 32,300 units were sold.

This growth has been reflected in several countries, but it has stood out mainly in three. Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany have been the countries where SEAT has achieved its greatest success, with sales of 8,000, 4,200 and 6,500 respectively. Furthermore, we should also highlight countries such as Austria, where the Spanish firm has been crowned one of the three best-selling brands for the first time in its history. France and Austria have also been key to breaking this sales record, with a total of 2,000 and 1,900 units sold in each country.

In the words of SEAT’s Sales Vice President, Wayne Griffiths, “We have started 2018 with an excellent result, the highest sales volume in our history, and we continue with the same positive trend as in 2017. The Ateca allowed us to grow very solidly last year, and the Arona will lead sales growth during 2018. Together with the Ibiza and our best-selling model, the León, they are the pillars of the brand”.

Without a doubt, 2018 is shaping up to be a great year for the Spanish firm, something they owe to the strategy they have decided to follow. This is based on greater internationalisation of SEAT vehicles, which they are achieving thanks to the introduction of new models and fresher, more current designs. This is not only reflected at the European level, since the brand has begun selling the fifth generation of the Ibiza in much more distant countries, such as Algeria.
