SEAT León Cupra R: these are the prices of the most radical version of the Spanish compact
SEAT has just announced the prices of the León Cupra R, which was unveiled a few months ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It will have a starting price of 44,585 euros.

The world of hot hatchbacks is becoming more and more radical, and brands are bringing out increasingly sporty cars despite the segment they belong to. We can see this reflected in Audi, with the RS3 and its 400 CV, or in Mercedes with the A45 AMG. But SEAT has also wanted to take part in this battle. That is how the fiercest León in the brand’s history came about, and today we bring you its prices.
SEAT announced its new León Cupra R a few months ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the most radical variant of the Spanish compact. This version is limited to 799 units worldwide, but the company had not made any statement about its price, only about its performance and tuning.
The SEAT León Cupra R features the well-known 2.0 TSI engine, but on this occasion it produces 310 CV. However, the Spanish firm has chosen to make a considerable distinction between the manual and automatic versions. The automatic Cupra R incorporates the six-speed DSG gearbox, but its power is limited to 300 CV. On the other hand, the manual variant has all the available horsepower and produces the full 310 CV.

At the same time, this also affects the number of units that will be produced of the fiercest León. As we told you, the Cupra R will be limited to 799 units, but only 300 will have the automatic gearbox and the remaining 499 will be fitted with the manual gearbox, which offers a greater sense of connection with the car. The company has decided to allocate 40 of the 799 units to Spain, of which 20 will be manual and 20 automatic. This will make the León Cupra R an even more exclusive vehicle.
But this exclusivity is not limited to the number of units built, but also to its mechanics. The new Cupra R features a Haldex-type differential and adaptive suspension, which lets you select different driving modes. The exhaust has also been modified compared with the standard version and produces a rougher, deeper sound than that of the standard Cupra.

SEAT presented the Cupra R dressed in an exclusive matte grey colour called Gris Pirineos, but it will not come as standard on the car and will be an option costing 2,580 euros. Even so, the brand also offers the possibility of painting our Cupra in black or metallic grey. SEAT has also taken the opportunity to add carbon fibre to this very special León.
But this exclusivity comes at a price, and it is a figure quite close to that of its siblings the Audi S3 and Golf R. The León Cupra R has a starting price of 44,585 euros for the manual version -of which more units will be made- and 46,375 euros for the variant equipped with the DSG gearbox.
