SEAT will debut very soon in the electric sector with the Mii Electric

SEAT is already putting the finishing touches on the presentation of its first 100% electric vehicle, the Mii Electric, a city car that will make history.

SEAT’s arrival in the world of electric cars was simply a matter of time, since El-Born anticipated the brand’s clear intentions. However, before we met the production version of the Spanish prototype, the company wanted to hint at its first 100% electric vehicle, the Mii. A few weeks ago Skoda ventured to offer the world a PHEV version of the Superb and a 100% electric version of the Citigo, a strategy that is also being applied at SEAT, which is willing to gradually electrify its range of models, and which will soon also see hybrid powertrains.

To take this first step, the Spanish company has decided to use its inaugural “SEAT on Tour” to unveil the Mii Electric for the first time. This event is used to bring the latest news from the brand and CUPRA to potential markets, with the aim of carrying out a study and showing what lies ahead with SEAT in the immediate future.

The CUPRA Formentor was responsible for showing the group’s first steps towards hybridisation, a task that El-Born also carried out. However, the small Mii will be the pioneer of electric vehicles within SEAT, since it belongs to a segment ideal for starting to use this type of powertrain, which is generating so much interest among today’s public.

For now, only one image has been revealed showing the name of this electric variant and a charger with which the Mii Electric will be charged. As for its design, we can expect the same lines shown by the combustion version, but accented by certain features typical of electric vehicles, such as a completely closed grille and the absence of an exhaust outlet.

As for the performance of the Mii Electric, SEAT has maintained a deafening silence, but, given its similarities with the recently presented Skoda Citigoe iV, we can expect synergies in the powertrain. With this premise, we could be looking at an electric motor capable of delivering 83 CV of power and 210 Nm of torque, figures that would be complemented by a total range of 265 kilometres, a capacity more than sufficient for urban journeys.

The world premiere of the SEAT Mii Electric will take place in Oslo , where the Spanish company will mark a before and after. In this way, a new era begins within the brand, which will apply this type of powertrain to other existing and future models.
