Silence expands its battery swapping network to the French capital
Silence’s subscription model offers an alternative to conventional purchase that reduces costs and makes access to electric mobility easier.
The Spanish company Silence, specialised in urban electric mobility, has taken an important step forward in its European expansion strategy with the opening of 14 new battery swapping stations in Paris and its metropolitan area. This new project, backed by the success of its network of more than 160 stations in Spain, also aims to reach other French cities such as Nice and Cannes before the end of the year.
Acciona, Silence’s parent company, together with Nissan as a partner, has been offering since last summer an innovative system that allows drivers of urban electric vehicles to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in just 30 seconds. This system has been designed for both two-wheeled and four-wheeled electric vehicles, all of which are compatible with a standard of removable and replaceable trolley-type batteries.

Silence strategically locates its swapping stations, many of them at Esso petrol stations, the commercial brand of ExxonMobil, thanks to an agreement reached with this energy company. Other stations can also be found in car parks, with the ultimate aim of offering its customers the greatest possible convenience by integrating electric mobility efficiently into their everyday lives.
The energy you need through a subscription
The Spanish company has also implemented in France a monthly subscription model that allows battery replacement, after having proven its effectiveness in Spain. Thanks to this initiative, users can significantly reduce the acquisition cost of an electric vehicle, with savings of up to 30 per cent as batteries are not included in the vehicle’s purchase price.
Silence’s system offers further advantages, however, as it also eliminates any concern related to battery maintenance or technological obsolescence. Each monthly fee includes 12 battery cycles which, in the case of Silence’s NanoCar S04, amounts to more than 1,500 kilometres of range, thus offering a practical and economical solution.

Silence’s expansion in France reinforces the Spanish company’s commitment to sustainable mobility. With growing infrastructure and an innovative business model, Silence is determined to transform the way French people make their urban journeys, offering an efficient and accessible alternative to fossil fuels.
