Zeekr also updates the 7X SUV with a new 900V architecture

The 7X SUV is also sold in Europe, but for the time being the Chinese manufacturer has not confirmed whether this update will also apply to the European model.

Zeekr, the premium brand of the Geely group, has begun pre-sales in China of the updated 7X SUV, following the path already set by its flagship, the 001. Just over a year after the debut of this electric SUV in September 2024, Zeekr has updated the top versions of the 7X, moving from an 800-volt to a 900-volt architecture, with the advantages that this entails in terms of efficiency and the charging power it can sustain.

Thanks to this update, the Chinese manufacturer claims that the updated 7X SUV is now capable of sustaining a charging power above 600 kW, positioning this model as a benchmark within its segment in this respect.

Geely is currently updating its models from the Volvo and Polestar brands to a new 800V architecture, while with Zeekr it is going one step further by betting on 900V technology, as we saw with the 001 and now with the 7X. The Chinese giant thus makes it clear that Zeekr is its premium brand, one rung above the rest.

The entry-level version remains at 800V

In any case, as we have already mentioned, Zeekr will not implement the new 900V architecture across all versions of the 7X. The entry-level version of this electric SUV’s range keeps the 800-volt architecture and features a 75 kWh battery pack that allows it to cover, on a single charge, according to the manufacturer, up to 620 km under the CLTC homologation cycle. This version also features a single rear-axle motor delivering 370 kW.

The higher versions, however, equipped with the 103 kWh Qilin battery pack from Chinese supplier CATL, do enjoy this new 900V architecture. This battery pack allows ultra-fast charging at a rate of 6C, reaching a peak of 618 kW. Under optimal conditions, the Chinese manufacturer claims it can go from 10 to 80 percent charge in just 10 minutes.

It should also be noted that, regarding safety, the 7X SUV comes as standard with the driver assistance package G-Pilot H7, equipped with 31 sensors, including LiDAR technology. This system uses the Nvidia Drive Thor-U chip, with a computing capacity of 700 TOPS, guaranteeing highly precise assisted driving.

Zeekr gives its customers even more reasons to end up buying a 7X

The 7X is the second best-selling Zeekr model in China, with 52,255 units sold between January and September 2025. Currently, the “old” version with the 800-volt architecture is sold in some European countries, such as Norway, the Netherlands and Sweden. For the time being, however, it is unknown whether the updated 7X SUV will also arrive in Europe.
