GLC Mercedes Electric Cars SUV
The electric Mercedes-Benz GLC already has defined equipment and prices for Spain
Unveiled last month, Mercedes-Benz wasted no time: the new fully electric GLC is now available to order in Spain

“Decided, refined and unmistakably GLC”. This is how Mercedes-Benz describes its new SUV, a fully electric model that, unlike the EQC and EQE, arrives with an image that undeniably belongs to the German manufacturer, along with an imposing presence that might even make you wonder at first whether it is a combustion-engined version.
But no, and despite what its huge grille, which is not entirely blind, and the huge lateral air intakes might suggest, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC is a fully electric SUV that we first got to know at the beginning of last September, when the brand presented it to the world. It obviously features a renewed design, but it could easily pass for a restyle of a combustion GLC, with a rear that also draws attention thanks to the covered optical group framed by a black strip running across its full width.

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC has been developed on the basis of the German brand’s MB.EA-M platform for electric vehicles which, together with a wheelbase 84 mm longer and a length 130 mm greater than the combustion-engined GLC, has allowed better use of the interior space, to which we must add the 570-litre boot. As is only to be expected, its interior stands out for its screens, with the latest-generation MBUX as the star, although all of this will vary depending on the chosen trim.

Specifically in terms of equipment, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC starts from a base equipment that includes as standard items such as the following:
- Avantgarde line
- Panoramic roof
- Acoustic and heat-insulating glass
- Dark-tinted glass
- Mirror package
- High-performance LED headlights with adaptive high beam assist
- Parking package with reversing camera
- Tirefit
- 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster
- 14-inch infotainment system
- Electrically adjustable seats with lumbar support
- Heated front seats
- Thermatic automatic climate control
- USB Plus package
- Smartphone integration
- Wireless charging for mobile devices
- Selfie and video camera

From the above base equipment, there is a series of packages that add further equipment, the first of which is the so-called Advanced Plus package, which adds items such as the following:
- Ambient lighting
- Illuminated entry rail
- Sky Control panoramic roof
- MBUX Superscreen
- Memory package
- Illuminated Mercedes-Benz iconic grille with outline, illuminated star grille panel
- Digital Extra: MBUX Entertainment 3 years
The second package is the so-called Premium, and on top of all of the above it adds items such as the following to its equipment:
- Advanced Plus package
- Energizer Air Control
- Active ambient lighting
- Comfort Plus package
- Dual wireless charging
- Burmester 3D surround sound system
- Digital light

Finally, there is the Premium Plus package, and as before it adds to everything above items such as the following:
- Premium package
- Climate-controlled front seats with massage function
- PRE-SAFE
- Impulse Side
- Burmester 4D surround sound system
- Illuminated pattern on the panoramic roof
- Digital Light with projection
- Heated rear seats
- MBUX Hyperscreen
In mechanical terms, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the GLC will be offered with a wide range of propulsion systems but, at least for now, at launch it will only be available with the GLC 400 4MATIC powertrain, which uses two permanent-magnet synchronous motors, one on each axle, to send power to all four wheels, delivering a combined output of 360 kW (490 CV) and linked to a two-speed transmission on the rear axle and a disconnecting unit on the front.

As part of this electric system, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC features an 800 V architecture with prismatic cells whose total capacity is 94 kWh, which can deliver a range of up to 707 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. These batteries allow charging at a maximum power of 330 kW, so that, where applicable, it is possible to go from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes; an 11 kW on-board charger for AC charging is also fitted.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is now available to order at the brand’s Spanish dealerships, with a price starting from 77,125 euros including taxes.
