Škoda Elroq: the second electric model from the Czech manufacturer has just been officially unveiled
With an innovative design, more interior space and a higher level of equipment, the new Škoda Elroq is presented as an alternative to the Volkswagen ID.3 at a similar price.
The second electric model from Skoda after the Enyaq is now a reality. The Czech manufacturer has just unveiled it, revealing all the details we wanted to know. With a price similar to the Volkswagen ID.3, following the recent price cut on the latter, the Elroq will reach the European market in the first quarter of 2025.
At 4.48 metres long, this new model from Skoda sits between segments, being shorter than the Enyaq and the ID.4, but longer than the ID.3 and the Cupra Born. This is a feature that sets it apart from the rest and may make it a better fit for the needs of some potential buyers. The Elroq also adopts an SUV design, which allows it to make use of its height to offer more interior space.

As expected, this new electric model from Skoda will be based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, allowing it to accommodate the same battery packs we have already seen in models such as the ID.3. The Czech manufacturer states that it will initially be available in four versions: the Elroq 50 will have a single 125 kW electric motor and a 52 kWh battery pack, just like the ID.3 Pure. The Elroq 60, like the ID.3 Pro, will feature a 150 kW motor paired with a 59 kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the Elroq 85 and 85x will come with a 77 kWh battery pack; the first with a 210 kW motor on the rear axle and the second with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive, with a combined output of 220 kW. The top speed of these last two will be limited to 180 km/h, while on the Elroq 50 and 60 this limit is reduced to 160 km/h.
Range and Price
It should also be noted that the WLTP range and details on supported charging power have not yet been revealed, but Skoda cites a maximum range of 560 kilometres for the Elroq 85. As for prices, the Elroq 50 will be available in Germany from 33,900 euros, costing practically the same as the Volkswagen ID.3 Pure. We can therefore assume that the remaining versions will be priced similarly to the equivalent-performance version of the ID.3.

Thus, it seems clear that with the Elroq Skoda is not aiming to compete on price, but rather on available space and equipment. Being an SUV, it is a more spacious vehicle, and with 470 litres it also surpasses the ID.3 in boot capacity. A factor that those wanting to travel with the whole family will surely take into account.
