Some technical specifications of the electric Range Rover are coming to light

The new electric Range Rover promises to surprise all Land Rover fans with off-road capabilities and a level of performance never before seen in a vehicle from the brand.

The 2025 Electric Range Rover has successfully completed a new phase of winter testing in the Arctic Circle ahead of its planned launch later this year. This electric SUV, built on an 800-volt architecture, features a 117 kWh battery pack with 344 prismatic cells stacked in two layers, using a cell-to-pack design that optimizes energy efficiency.

During the winter tests carried out in Sweden, under the harshest weather conditions, the new electric SUV from Land Rover covered more than 72,000 kilometres, according to the manufacturer, demonstrating its robustness and dynamic capability at all times. To achieve this, the engineers at the British company have equipped this model with advanced technologies such as ThermAssistTM, which reduces energy consumption by up to 40 percent at temperatures as low as -10 °C. This system recovers heat to warm the propulsion system or the cabin, improving range and maintaining optimal charging speeds in cold climates.

“Our second winter season in the Arctic put the ThermAssist technology to the test, exceeding our expectations. This innovation ensures optimized range and maintains charging efficiency even in the most demanding circumstances.”

Technical specifications to consider

The electric Range Rover is based on the MLA Flex platform of Jaguar Land Rover. This platform is compatible with battery electric, plug-in hybrid and combustion vehicles. In its electric version, it features two permanent-magnet electric motors delivering 410 kW and all-wheel drive, achieving a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in approximately 4.5 seconds. When recharging, it supports fast charging of up to 350 kW. Although the official range has not yet been announced, some estimates suggest between 450 and 480 kilometres under the EPA homologation cycle.

This new SUV from Land Rover also stands out for other specifications, such as the adjustable dual-chamber air suspension, the one-pedal driving option, and its advanced traction system Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD), which distributes torque precisely to avoid loss of traction at all times. In addition, the Integrated Traction Management system is capable of controlling engine output in just 50 milliseconds, thereby improving stability on difficult terrain.
