Spain: Volkswagen presents the new T5 line-up

The passenger and leisure models of the T5 range debut the new Edition line, with equipment packages that until now were optional and are added to the standard equipment, at a minimal additional cost on the final price of the vehicle.

The new Edition version is offered on the Caravelle, Multivan and California models, across all trim levels. Furthermore, Volkswagen debuts the 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, producing 204 CV, with a 6-speed manual gearbox and with DSG automatic gearbox, with and without 4Motion all-wheel drive.

The new engine’s performance has been improved; the Multivan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 200 km/h. Consumption remains at a low level of 9.8 l/100 km. Compared with the previous model, equipped with a 6-cylinder VR engine, fuel consumption is reduced by 23%, while torque increases by 11%.

Among other new features, the Caravelle and the Multivan Startline come as standard with a multifunction display and CD radio with MP3 player and 8 speakers, as well as a multifunction steering wheel and fog lights. The new Multivan Edition includes a multifunction steering wheel with Bluetooth, fog lights, light and rain sensor, tinted glass, electrically adjustable mirrors, parking and lane-change sensors, 17-inch Neva alloy wheels (the Panamericana fits Thunder wheels) and the assistant for closing the sliding door and the tailgate. The Highline and the Panamericana add to the aforementioned items the navigation system and Bi-xenon headlights.

The California model, in its Beach version, features stationary heating, a multifunction steering wheel and display, fog lights and CD radio with MP3 player and 8 speakers. The California Comfortline adds to all this a side awning, a multifunction steering wheel with Bluetooth, light and rain sensor, Tempomat cruise control, folding mirrors and front and rear parking sensors.

The recommended price starting from the least equipped Startline Edition 2.0 TDI starts at 34,238 euros.
