Spy photos: Toyota FT-86

After years of seeing the same concept prototypes, or developments based on them from both Toyota and Subaru or Scion, and hearing thousands of rumours about possible versions and engines… I can finally present you the first spy photos taken of the vehicle wearing its definitive production bodywork.

Well then, after a long wait, you can finally see on screen the return or reinterpretation of the ToyotaAE86, Hachi-Rochu to its friends, a model that has been photographed in this disguise no less than in the vicinity of the legendary Nürburgring, the circuit chosen by the Japanese manufacturer to fine-tune a vehicle that should reach the market perhaps sooner than you expect.

Specifically, according to the latest information, the FT-86, which is how it is known for now since its commercial name has not yet been revealed, will be presented in December during the Tokyo Motor Show and, a few months later, reach a market eager to finally see its definitive appearance.

As you can see, beneath all those eye-catching vinyls there is a vehicle very similar to the attractive Scion FR-S that we liked so much and that was presented a few weeks ago at the New York Motor Show. Even so, these striking lines have apparently been mixed on the sides with the sober styling of the first FT-86, especially on the wings, much less “beasts“.

Without further ado, I leave you with the spy photos taken by the guys at Autoblog showing an FT-86 very close to its final version
