All new Porsche 911 models will come with KERS

The Porsche 911 is a true classic that is already starting to hear calls for a fundamental redesign, rather than the small details that get updated year after year (personally, I don’t mind that the 911 never fully reinvents its exterior, since it is perfect as it is). But on the technical innovation side it keeps evolving, and will offer the KERS energy recovery system in all future variants.

The KERS used in the 911 versions gives an additional power margin for overtaking, through recovered energy, just as the system was originally conceived when it was introduced in Formula 1 and as it is in the case of the GT3 R Hybrid.

In the case of future KERS variants, the recovered energy will not be stored in electric batteries, but will instead go to a flywheel system placed between the engine and the transmission.

And if you’re wondering how a recovery flywheel can be fitted in such an unorthodox location, given the rear-mounted engine, the answer lies in a change of dimensions for the 911. The KERS versions will be a little longer and wider than the “standard” 911s, almost 7 centimeters longer and about 10 wider, although despite all that, the car’s weight would be reduced by around 46 kilos.

    FELICIDADES.

ES UNA NOTICIA QUE ME HACE SENTIR BIEN , PORQUE VEO QUE PORSCHE SE PONE LAS PILAS .
A DÍA DE HOY PORSCHE HABÍA SIDO ALCANZADA POR MUCHAS DE LAS MARCAS NO TAN PREMIUM QUE EXISTEN EN EL MERCADO Y CREO QUE EL PASO QUE VAN HA REALIZAR CON ESTE NUEVO MODELO LOS DISTANCIARA DE LA COMPETENCIA ………POR LO MENOS DURANTE UN PAR DE AÑITOS.
OTRA COSA MUY DISTINTA ES LO QUE PIENSO DEL PANAMERA DIESEL……….SI POR LO MENOS HUBIESE SIDO V8 CON NO SE QUE TECNOLOGÍA.

    OTRA VEZ FELICIDADES.
