Tauro V8 Spider, the new Spanish convertible

Today, Spain is at its most glorious moment since the reign of Charles I. Sport belongs to us: we win in Formula 1, in motorcycling, in tennis, in football and in many other, less well-known disciplines. But this week we extend our greatness: a new Spanish brand joins the league of sports convertibles, with the arrival of the new Tauro V8 Spider.
The Tauro V8 Spider will be manufactured in Valladolid, Castile and León, where the first 30 units of the initial production phase will be assembled. Each model will be tailored to its customer, so it will be impossible to see two identical cars. For now, only two vehicles have been built, one red and one black, for the official presentation that took place a few days ago.
In the front-mid position sits the heart of the newcomer. It takes the foundations of the Pontiac Solstice and adds a 6.2-litre V8. The engine produces no less than 440 CV of power at 6,200 rpm and 586 Nm at 4,400 rpm. In addition, the brand offers optional upgrades to the camshafts and cylinder heads to raise the figures to 480 CV and 644 Nm of torque.

The standard gearbox is a six-speed manual with close-ratio gears; however, for an additional payment, the brand can fit an automatic gearbox. The Tauro V8 also receives a limited-slip differential and independent suspension on both axles with double wishbones and monotube dampers. The brakes are 360 mm ventilated discs with six-piston calipers at the front, while at the rear the ventilated discs measure 335 mm and use four-piston calipers.
With a weight distribution of 52%-48% in favour of the front and a total weight of just 1,200 kg, the performance is expected to be breathtaking. We will have to wait for the acceleration and top speed figures.
This project, which began in mid-2009, will provide its customers with unique cars at a starting price of around 100,000 €. A really good figure for the vehicle on offer.
From here, we would like to congratulate this new brand.

Poniac Solstice?
Buenas tardes.
