The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro could have a V8 engine with 700 hp

The new Camaro Z/28 could introduce a V8 engine with up to 700 hp . The American sports car will be the fastest Camaro in history thanks to the introduction of several mechanical adjustments – such as an innovative flat-plane crankshaft and an aluminium engine block – and aerodynamics. The model could reach the market in 2019.
For several months it was thought that the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE prototype would correspond to the new Z/28 generation. However, the American company recently confirmed that we had all been mistaken; this concept was based on the new high-performance package that the current Camaro ZL1 has received. Despite this, Chevrolet’s designers are still working on the new version of the sports car, and if the speculation is correct, the wait will be more than worth it.

The new Camaro will have a flat-plane crankshaft and could reach the market from 2019 onwardsEverything points to the new Camaro Z/28 possibly reaching the market in 2019. The American sports car could feature a naturally aspirated V8 engine delivering 700 hp. This new engine will be called LT6, and the range would be completed by a twin-turbo V8 unit. Both powertrains will have 5.5 litres of displacement, an aluminium engine block, direct injection and a flat-plane crankshaft; this component allows higher rev speeds, a more immediate throttle response and greater overall balance, resulting in engine rotation with far fewer vibrations.
The next Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 will be lighter than the current ZL1 1LE, and it is also expected to receive several new features in its bodywork and aerodynamics that would make it the fastest Camaro in history.
