Alfa Romeo begins selling the Junior Ibrida in Spain, featuring a combustion engine and mild-hybrid technology

After its controversial arrival, which included a name change for legal reasons, the Alfa Romeo Junior has been a reality for some time now in its fully electric version, the first to reach the market. Now the range expands with the Ibrida version, which combines a combustion engine with mild-hybrid technology, a more than necessary move if Alfa Romeo wants to compete in the B-SUV segment with the Junior.

The Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida presents itself as what we have already seen, but with changes under its bonnet, where a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is housed, capable of delivering 136 CV of power, working together with a 28.5 CV electric motor. This power is sent to the front axle through the 6-speed eDCT automatic gearbox. At the end of the year, the range will be expanded with the Veloce electric version of 204 CV and another hybrid version with all-wheel drive, Q4.

The hybrid system fitted to the Junior Ibrida is powered by a 48 V self-charging battery, meaning it recovers energy during braking and deceleration phases. Alfa Romeo claims that this engine, thanks to its smoothness, handling and ease of driving, offers features such as acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 206 km/h.
